Lin Wenjin, 91, a first-generation Taiwanese film technical talent trained by Nongjiao Film Company, the predecessor of China Film Corporation, has become an important photographer through continuous improvement and hard work. He felt the early boom in Taiwanese language films and also participated in health-realist films and won the 5th Golden Horse Award for Best Color Cinematography for “My Daughter Ruolan”. He has collaborated with famous directors like Li Jia, Zhang Zhengze, Ding Shanxi, Chen Yaoqi, Liu Lili, Cai Yangming, Zhu Yanping, etc. Among them, he collaborated with Ding Shanji in the war blockbuster. Eternal Heroes, “Eight Hundred Heroes”, “Jin Hai” “Double Ten” have repeatedly refreshed the difficulty of Taiwanese film photography. Kyung Yao’s “A Red Bean” and “Goose in the Forest” are bright and dreamy, and “Didi’s Diary” and “The Source” were once again nominated for best cinematography.

Lin Wenjin has been involved in the film industry for nearly half a century and has participated in nearly 200 films, and has served as the leader of the film and television team and the technical team of China Film Company. Liao Benrong and Li Pingbin’s contribution to film legacy has been recognized by the Golden Horse Awards. In 2020, he published “Life on Camera: The Dream of a Farm Boy”, which witnessed the history of Taiwanese film development from the 1950s to the 1980s.

The Golden Horse Film Festival, which will debut in November, plans a tribute section for the two winners.
