Global Software Campus (GSC) and Ewha Seoul Hospital officially opened the Ewha AI Specialized Joint Training Center on May 19, 2026. The center is designed to cultivate professional talent at the intersection of healthcare and artificial intelligence.
The center was established after GSC and Ewha Seoul Hospital formed a consortium that was selected for the AI Specialized Joint Training Center project. This initiative is led by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
As part of the National Human Resources Development Consortium, the project utilizes the existing educational infrastructure of leading companies and universities to provide free, specialized AI training to employees of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The Ewha AI Specialized Joint Training Center distinguishes itself from other AI training hubs by its specific focus on the medical field. The facility integrates the medical infrastructure of Ewha Seoul Hospital with the experience of GSC in operating AI and digital technology education.
For the current year, the center intends to operate 20 different education courses targeting 61 partner companies. The program has set a goal to train 360 AI practical personnel annually.
The curriculum focuses on increasing practical applicability through a combination of Project Based Learning (PBL) and hands-on training that utilizes actual medical data. PBL is an instructional approach where students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects.
GSC, led by CEO Kim Sung-woo, is responsible for the comprehensive management of the educational programs. This includes the design of the courses, overall operation, the selection and organization of the teaching faculty, and the establishment of the practical training environment.
The partnership aims to bridge the gap between theoretical AI knowledge and clinical application, providing SME employees with the skills necessary to implement AI solutions within a medical context.
