Freelance Announcer Tests Positive for Drugs After Returning to Korea
Kim Na-jeong, a freelance announcer and broadcaster, has tested positive for drugs after returning to Korea. She had previously posted on social media about using drugs while abroad.
On November 12, Incheon International Airport Police investigated Kim on charges of violating the Drug Control Act. A preliminary drug test indicated the presence of philopone in her system.
Kim was questioned for about two hours upon arriving at Incheon Airport from Manila, Philippines. Before her flight, she sparked concern by posting, “I admit to taking drugs in the Philippines,” and “I feel like I’m dying, so I can’t get on the plane.”
A police official stated, “Kim reported feeling in danger and requested protection. We confirmed information regarding her drug use once she returned to Korea.”
The Incheon International Airport police have transferred her case to the National Police Agency’s drug task force, responsible for managing drug-related cases in her area.
Kim, a former model for the men’s magazine ‘Maxim,’ has previously worked as a freelance announcer and weather caster, as well as appearing on entertainment programs.
