While Typhoon Shanshan, the 10th typhoon to make landfall in Japan, sweeps across the country this weekend, our country will see continued hot weather during the day.

On the 30th, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that the east side of the Taebaek Mountains will be cool with rain as the east wind blows between the 10th typhoon ‘Sansan’ and the high pressure over the East Sea, but the west side will be hot. Due to the influence of the east wind, 5-30mm of rain will continue intermittently in the Yeongdong area of ​​Gangwon, the coast of Gyeongsang, and the northeastern mountainous area of ​​Gyeongbuk until the afternoon of the 30th.

Until the 30th, Busan, Ulsan, Geoje, and the southern Gyeongbuk east coast region are expected to experience strong winds due to the influence of ‘Sansan’. Gangwon Yeongdong is also expected to see strong winds with instantaneous wind speeds of up to 55 km/h (15 m/s). However, the west side of the Taebaek Mountains will see strong sunlight and clear weather.

The influence of ‘Sansan’ is expected to last until the 31st, dropping about 5mm of rain in the central and southern parts of Yeongdong, Gangwon Province.

However, the central region and Jeolla region will see clear weather throughout the weekend. The hot weather will continue with temperatures rising to 33℃ during the day.

Most areas of the country will see higher temperatures than average, but Gangwon Yeongdong and the east coast of Gyeongsang Province will see daytime highs of around 30℃, similar to average, due to the influx of easterly winds. The lowest morning temperature is forecast to be 19-25℃, and the highest daytime temperature is forecast to be 29-34℃. The daily temperature range is expected to be somewhat large, so you should take care of your health.

On Monday, September 2, temperatures are expected to drop slightly as rain falls in the metropolitan area, Gangwon, and Gyeongbuk.

Fine dust concentrations will show ‘good’ to ‘normal’ levels across all regions due to smooth atmospheric diffusion.
