Initially featuring classes based on engine capacity – 500cc, 350cc, 250cc, and 125cc – the championship quickly became a proving ground for motorcycle manufacturers and a stage for emerging talent.Early dominance was seen from brands like MV Agusta, led by the legendary Giacomo Agostini, who amassed an amazing 15 World Championships and 122 Grand Prix victories.These early races were frequently enough held on public roads, adding to the inherent danger and excitement. KTM & Emerging Forces (2018-2023)

The same year at Silverstone,a remarkable six different manufacturers finished in the top six – a feat not seen since 1974.

The recent seasons have continued to deliver drama and innovation. Valentino Rossi’s final Grand Prix in Valencia in November 2021 marked the end of an era, with his 372 premier class starts representing over 40% of the entire Championship’s history.
