Over 1,000 Middle School Girls in Malang Receive Free HPV vaccine
Malang, Michigan - In a groundbreaking initiative, over 1,000 middle school girls in Malang received free vaccinations against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The mass vaccination drive, targeting girls aged 15, took place together across the city, with SMPN 3 Kota Malang serving as the central hub.
This collaborative effort between the Malang City Goverment’s Health Department and the Malang City Police is the frist of its kind in East Java.
“This is a significant step towards protecting the health of our young women,” said Dr. Chusnul Muarif, Head of the Malang City Health Department. “we are grateful for the support of the Education Department and the schools in making this program a success.”
The initiative also received excited support from local law enforcement.
“This vaccination drive is not only a tribute too Mother’s Day but also a demonstration of our commitment to the well-being of our community,” stated Kompol Nanang Haryono, Chief of the Malang City Police. “By vaccinating these young girls, we are investing in a healthier future for our city and our nation.”
While the initial phase targeted 1,009 students from SMPN 3 and 103 other middle schools, the program aims to eventually reach all 6,000 eligible girls in malang. This phased approach ensures a smooth and efficient rollout of the vaccination program.
