The Professional Regulation Commission announced that 109 out of 142 examinees passed the August 2026 Certified Plant Mechanics Computer-Based Licensure Examination, yielding a passing rate of 76.76 percent according to official results released on August 13, 2026. The board examinations were administered by the Board of Mechanical Engineering across multiple testing centers nationwide over a three-day testing window.

Board Examination Details and Testing Locations

The computer-based licensure tests for certified plant mechanics took place on August 7, August 8, and August 9, 2026. According to the Professional Regulation Commission, testing venues included Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, and Pampanga. The examination covered three core technical areas. Day one focused on elements of power plant machinery, day two tested shop machinery practice, and day three evaluated elements of industrial plant machinery.

The examinations were conducted alongside the Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination, which was administered across the same designated cities as well as additional locations in Butuan, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga. The regulatory board overseeing both assessments consisted of Engr. Rodulfo L. Tablante as chairman, alongside members Engr. Manuel L. Paulino and Engr. Ramon F. Solis.

Registration and Online Verification Process

Successful examinees must complete their initial registration for the issuance of a Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration online. The registration portal opens on October 15, 2026, through the official Professional Regulation Commission website at online.prc.gov.ph. Registrants need to bring a screenshot of their system-generated registration form and a valid government-issued identification card.

Passing candidates are required to personally register and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals. The Professional Regulation Commission stated that the specific date and venue for the formal oathtaking ceremony of the newly certified plant mechanics will be announced at a later date. Individual ratings and examination scores for both successful and unsuccessful examinees will become accessible online through the official commission website within a few working days following the announcement.
