Sophia Aliveto,Saint James: The sophomore midfielder led the Saints to an notable 11-5 record with 11 goals and eight assists.
Bella Andrews, Boonsboro: The junior forward/midfielder dominated the county with a remarkable 36 points, scoring 11 goals and dishing out 14 assists.
jocelynn Ballengee, North Hagerstown: The senior defender anchored the Hubs’ defense, contributing to five shutouts while also finding the back of the net herself.
Brennyn cronise, boonsboro: The sophomore forward proved to be a scoring threat, leading the county with 13 goals and adding three assists.
These talented young women represent the best of Washington County girls soccer, demonstrating exceptional skill, teamwork, and dedication to the sport. Their achievements inspire young athletes across the region and highlight the bright future of girls soccer in the area.
Washington County’s Finest: 2023 Girls Soccer All-County Team announced
Hagerstown, MD – The 2023 Washington County girls soccer season showcased astounding talent and fierce competition. Now, the best of the best have been recognized with the release of the All-Washington County team.
This year’s squad is a testament to the depth of talent across the county, featuring standout players from schools like Smithsburg, Saint James, and Boonsboro.
leading the charge is a group of dynamic midfielders. Eliane Demba of Saint James dominated both defensively and offensively, racking up two goals and six assists. Grace Ellis, a senior from Smithsburg, was a force to be reckoned with, contributing four goals and five assists while earning All-CMC Small School first-team honors. Annabel Fletcher, also a senior midfielder, anchored Boonsboro’s midfield with four goals, four assists, and a tenacious defensive presence.
Smithsburg’s Maren McFarland led the WCPS champions in scoring with an impressive eight goals and four assists, solidifying her place as a key offensive threat.Averey Ndong-Cantave, a sophomore forward from Saint James, showcased her scoring prowess with 10 goals and seven assists.
Rounding out the midfield are Samantha O’Connor from North Hagerstown (six goals, three assists) and Emma Paul from Williamsport (four goals, four assists).
In goal, Macy Peters of Smithsburg stood tall, recording 103 saves, four shutouts, and a 1.71 goals-against average. Her impressive performance earned her all-state honorable-mention status, and she even managed to score a goal herself.
Grace Vizcaya, a senior forward from Clear Spring, provided leadership and offensive spark with four goals and an assist. Madison Witmer, a senior defender from Smithsburg, anchored a strong backline, helping to limit opponents to just 29 goals in 17 games. She also contributed five goals and an assist, earning All-CMC Small School first-team honors.
