2024 Hyundai Palisade: First Look at Redesigned SUV
Hyundai Unveils Striking Redesign of Flagship Palisade SUV
Hyundai Motor Company has pulled the wraps off the all-new Palisade, showcasing a bold redesign for its flagship SUV. The completely revamped model boasts a larger, more imposing presence and a luxurious, lounge-like interior.
Six years after its debut, the Palisade returns with a fresh look that draws inspiration from luxury SUVs like the Range Rover. The “short overhang” design, pushing the wheels to the edges of the body, gives the Palisade a commanding stance.[Image: The design of the Palisade’s successor model was revealed for the frist time. The new Palisade’s silhouette is instantly recognizable, with refined character lines accentuating the wheel arches, window lines, and molding designs. The smooth, uninterrupted window line adds to the SUV’s sleek profile.
Up front, large daytime running lights take center stage, flanking vertical headlamp units. A massive grille dominates the lower portion of the fascia, further emphasizing the Palisade’s bold design.
“The All-New Palisade has a bold and luxurious design with refined details,” said Simon Rossby, Executive Director and Head of Hyundai Design Centre. “The interior design, complete with elaborate details reminiscent of premium furniture, creates a comfortable and highly usable space. We’ve redefined the car for families.”

stepping inside, the Palisade’s interior is a haven of comfort and luxury. Furniture-inspired design elements are incorporated throughout the spacious cabin. The horizontal dashboard layout creates a relaxed, lounge-like atmosphere. A large console and panoramic screen at the rear, along with Hyundai’s latest control interfaces, enhance the premium feel.
A unique steering wheel, devoid of the customary Hyundai logo, features a clean, minimalist design.Four dots, engraved on the steering wheel spokes, represent Morse code for “H,” adding a subtle yet elegant touch.
The island-type center console, similar to that found in the IONIQ 5, is separated from the dashboard. It houses a 100W USB charging port, a wireless charger, two large cup holders, a storage compartment, and a console box with double doors. The shift lever is conveniently located on the steering column.
The Palisade’s significantly larger body translates to increased interior space. The first row can be configured as a three-seater, transforming into a center console when folded and a center seat when opened. This versatile seating arrangement allows for a nine-passenger capacity, perhaps qualifying the vehicle for highway bus-only lanes when carrying more than six passengers.
In Korea, the nine-seater model benefits from exemptions on individual consumption tax and value-added tax refunds, making it an attractive option for buyers.
The second row offers flexible seating configurations, with options for a seven-seater independent setup or a nine-seater 6:4 split seat. The third row comes standard with a 6:4 split seat.Powering the Palisade is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline direct injection turbo engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.Higher trim levels will feature a hybrid powertrain based on the 2.5 turbo engine. Hyundai’s next-generation hybrid system, TMED II, promises improved efficiency thanks to increased generator capacity and higher motor output.
