2025 Best Foods Comedy Gala: International Stars Felicity Ward, Tape Face & Eli Matthewson Announced

The New Zealand Comedy Trust announces the first acts for the Best Foods Comedy Gala. The lineup includes Felicity Ward, Tape Face, and Eli Matthewson. The gala will take place on 2 May in Auckland and 3 May in Wellington. This event starts the 2025 NZ International Comedy Festival with Best Foods Mayo.

Felicity Ward is a prominent comedian from Australia. She is known for her roles in The Office Australia and her award-winning stand-up comedy. Her honest and humorous approach delights fans and critics alike. Viewers might also know her from shows like Time Bandits, Thank God You’re Here, Have You Been Paying Attention? and Spicks and Specks.

Tape Face returns to New Zealand after several years. His unique comedy style has amazed audiences worldwide. He gained fame as a finalist on America’s Got Talent in 2016. His performances have gathered over 220 million views on YouTube. Currently, he performs at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He was nominated for the Fred Award in 2012 for his show The Boy with Tape on his Face.

Eli Matthewson is a well-known figure in New Zealand comedy. He has appeared on Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee, 7 Days, and competed on Dancing with the Stars and Celebrity Treasure Island. In 2021, he won the Fred Award for Best NZ show at the Comedy Fest. He co-hosts the popular podcast, The Male Gayz, with Chris Parker.

More acts will be announced in 2025. The Best Foods Comedy Gala in Auckland will be filmed for THREE. The 2025 NZ International Comedy Festival with Best Foods Mayo runs from 2 – 25 May, with the full program scheduled for release in March 2025.
