SZA, Doechii‍ and Leon⁤ Thomas⁤ III Honored⁤ at‌ 2025 ​BET Awards

The 25th annual BET Awards, which celebrate Black excellence in ⁣music, television, film and sports, aired live from ⁢the Peacock Theater in‍ Los Angeles on⁢ june 9, with ⁤several artists taking home ‌top honors. SZA, Doechii and Leon Thomas III were among the ‍major winners of ⁣the night.

SZA was named Best Female R&B/Pop⁤ artist, solidifying her place⁢ as a leading voice ⁤in contemporary music. Doechii won Best Female Hip Hop Artist, while Leon ​Thomas III was ⁣crowned‍ Best New Artist, signaling ‌a bright future for⁤ the emerging talent.

Chris Brown’s “Residuals” earned ⁣the Viewer’s Choice Award, ​highlighting the artist’s⁣ connection‌ with his fanbase. ⁣Othre nominees in the category​ included ⁢Doechii,Drake,future and ​Metro Boomin featuring ‌Kendrick ‍Lamar,GloRilla,and Kendrick Lamar.

In the⁣ Best Collaboration‌ category,‍ Future and Metro Boomin ⁣featuring Kendrick Lamar were ⁣nominated ​for “Like⁣ That.” The Best Group category⁣ included Future and Metro Boomin.

Other​ nominees for Best Male R&B/Pop ‍Artist included Bruno Mars, ‍Chris Brown, Drake, Fridayy, Leon Thomas III, Teddy Swims, The Weeknd and Usher. Cardi B, Doja‍ Cat, Glorilla, Lactto, Megan Thee Stallion, nicki ⁣Minaj, Rapsody and Sexyy‍ Red were nominated alongside‌ Doechii ​for Best Female Hip Hop Artist.

BigXthaPlug, Bossman dlow, Burna Boy, Drake, Future, Kendrick Lamar, key Glock, Lil Wayne and Tyler, the Creator were among those nominated for Best Male hip⁢ Hop⁢ Artist.

The BET Her Award nominees included Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé, doechii, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana ‍Grande, summer Walker, Tems, and Flo ‍and GloRilla.

Anderson.paak,B Pace Productions⁢ and Jacquees,Benny Boom,Cactus Jack,cole Bennett,Dave Free and ​Kendrick Lamar,Dave Meyers,Foggieraw and‍ Tyler,the Creator were nominated for Video Director⁣ of the Year.

In the international categories, Any Gabrielly, Ayra starr, bashy,⁢ Black Sherif, Ezra Collective, Joé Finger Filé, Mc Luanna, Rema, sdm, Tyla and​ Uncle ‍Waffles were nominated for Best International Act. Abigail Chams, Ajuliacosta, Amabbi, Play Thukazin, Dr. Cheat,⁤ Kwn, Maglera Doe Boy, Wonder, Odeal, Shallipop and Txc were nominated for best New International Act.

Bad⁢ Boys: Ride or Die,Beverly Hills⁤ Cop: Axel F,Luther: Never To Much,Mufasa: The Lion King,One of ⁣Them Days,Rebel Ridge,The Piano Lesson ⁣ and The Six Triple Eight ‍ were nominated for ‌Best Movie.

Aaron Pierre,‍ Aldis​ Hodge, Anthony⁢ Mackie,⁤ Colman ​domingo, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Joey the sea $$, Kevin Hart, Sterling K.Brown​ and Will Smith​ were nominated for Best Actor.Angela Bassett, Coco Jones,⁤ Cynthia Erivo, Keke Palmer, Kerry⁢ Washington, Fifth brunson, Viola Davis and Zedaya were nominated for Best Actress.

Akira akbar, Blue Ivy Carter, Graceyn “Gracie” Hollingsworth, Heiress Harris, Melody ‌Hurd, thaddeus J. Mixson and Tyrik ‌Johnson ⁢were nominated ⁤for the Young Stars Award.

A’ja⁤ Wilson, Angel ⁣Reese, Claressa ‌Shields, Coco Gauff, Dawn Staley, Embarrassed Johnson,⁢ JuJu Watkins, Sha’Carri Richardson‍ and Simone Biles were nominated for Sportswoman of ⁣the Year. Aaron Judge,‌ Anthony Edwards, Deion Sanders, Jalen Hurts, Jayson Tatum, LeBron James, saquon Barkley and Stephen Curry‌ were nominated for Sportsman ‌of the⁣ Year.
