Pacquiao, Paz and Nunn Lead Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Manny Pacquiao’s legendary career will be celebrated with his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on sunday in Canastota, N.Y. However, unlike moast inductees, Pacquiao isn’t quite ready to hang up his gloves.
At 46, Pacquiao is set to return to the ring after nearly four years, facing Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title on July 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This comeback aims to add another chapter to his already storied career.
Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs) began boxing at 16, rising from poverty in the Philippines to capture his first world title at 18. by 2010, he had remarkably won titles in eight weight divisions. his upcoming fight could make him the first Hall of Famer to win a world title.
His career reached new heights after teaming up with trainer Freddie Roach in Los Angeles. Together,they secured victories against numerous Hall of Famers,including Marco Antonio Barrera,Oscar De La hoya and Miguel cotto. His 2015 fight against Floyd Mayweather generated over $400 million in revenue.
pacquiao told ESPN he was honored to join fellow countrymen in the Hall of Fame, drawing inspiration from Filipino boxing legends.

Vinny Paz (50-10, 30 KOs) is also among the 2025 inductees. Paz is remembered for his amazing comeback from a severe neck injury sustained in a 1991 car accident. Doctors said he might never walk again,but Paz returned to the ring just 14 months later.
Paz told ESPN he was happy and honored, recalling watching Muhammad Ali and Roberto Duran as a kid.
Michael Nunn (58-4, 38 KOs), another inductee, held world titles at middleweight and super middleweight. Nunn held the IBF middleweight title from 1988 to 1991 and the WBA super middleweight title from 1992 to 1994.

Yessica Chavez (32-5-3, 4 KOs), who retired in 2021, won world titles at junior flyweight and flyweight.
Other inductees include Mary Jo Sanders, anne Sophie Mathis, referees Kenny Bayless and harry Gibbs, cutman Al Gavin, Cathy “Cat” Davis, Randy Gordon, Ross Greenburg, Rodrigo Valdez and Owen Swift.
