“Did you hear? The 2025 federal holidays are out!” exclaimed Emily, excitedly waving her phone in front of her coworker, Daniel.

“Really?” Daniel responded, leaning over to peek at Emily’s screen. “I know it’s still a while away, but it’s good to know. Anything new on there?”

“Nope, same as always,” Emily chuckled.”But it’s good to have it officially confirmed. Gives us plenty of time to plan, right?”

“Definitely! I was just thinking about when I coudl schedule that trip to see my family next year. Knowing these dates helps a lot,” Daniel agreed.“Do you remember when all the holidays are? I need to double-check before I book anything.”

Emily grinned. “Okay, so New Year’s Day is on a Wednesday – kind of a bummer starting the year midweek. Then, Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the third Monday in January,” Emily rattled off, her fingers counting the dates on her phone. “Presidents’ Day is February 17th, and then we have Memorial Day at the end of May.”

“Great! That reminds me, I wanted to visit some museums in D.C. around Memorial Day. Might be pretty crowded though,” Daniel mused.

“Probably!” Emily agreed. “Juneteenth is on a Friday in June, then we have Independence Day falling on a Thursday. Labor Day is the first Monday in September, and Columbus Day is the second Monday in October. Veterans Day is November 11th, Thanksgiving is on the 27th, and Christmas is on a Wednesday.”

“You’ve got a photographic memory, Emily!” Daniel laughed.“Thanks so much for sharing this. It’ll come in handy when I start planning.”

“No problem! Just glad we can start looking forward to all those long weekends,” Emily chirped.
