HANGZHOU JINQI, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region – The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region “East Style Cup” U Series Youth Basketball Trials commenced May 1 in Hangzhou Jinqi, marking a significant event for youth basketball in the region.
Opening Ceremony Highlights
The opening ceremony, which began at 8 a.m. with the national anthem, was attended by key figures including Meng Ke Bater, chairman of the Inner Mongolia Basketball Association, and Zhang Zhongping, deputy secretary of the Banner Commitee. Sarina, deputy head of the Banner Government, stated that Hangjin Banner is committed to providing extensive support for the event.
Athlete and referee representatives pledged fair play and impartial officiating during the competition.
Opening Match
Following the opening ceremony, Zhang Zhongping announced the start of the trials, with Meng Ke Bater initiating the opening match. The U17 game between Hangjin Banner Mongolia Middle School and the Dream Chaser Basketball Club was closely contested.
Association’s Outlook
Meng Ke Bater, chairman of the Inner Mongolia Basketball Association, emphasized the importance of the event. “This event is the largest youth competition in the history of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,” Bater said. “It is of great significance to promoting the growth of basketball in the region, promoting the overall improvement of sports, and deepening the promotion of national fitness. The event launched in Hangzhou Jinqi creates a good atmosphere and helps discover outstanding youth reserve talents.”

Tournament Details
The Inner Mongolia Basketball Association and the People’s Government of hangjin Banner are jointly sponsoring the event.The competition includes U17 men’s and women’s groups, U15 men’s and women’s groups, and a U14 men’s group.
A total of 54 teams and 648 athletes from nine leagues and cities, including Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos City, are participating. The 5-day event will feature 185 games across six venues. Winning teams will represent the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at the national U series.
