2025 Lexus ES Refresh Unveiled at Auto Guangzhou
The 2025 Lexus ES debuted at the 2024 Auto Guangzhou. This facelift marks the second update for the seventh-generation model, first introduced in 2018. Lexus is not ready to introduce a new generation yet, focusing instead on enhancing the current design.
The updated ES features new LED matrix headlights and a redesigned spindle grille, giving the sedan a more eye-catching look. The rear end also received attention with updated LED taillight graphics and a new full-width light bar.
Inside, the Lexus ES impresses with a touch-sensitive screen that users can also control through a rotary knob on the center console. Additional features include a Mark Levinson sound system, power-adjustable front seats with memory functions, an upgraded voice control system, a new gear selector, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
For the 2025 model year, two engine options will be available in China. The base model, ES 200, comes with a 2.0L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, producing 170 PS and 199 Nm of torque. The more powerful ES 300h includes a 2.5L inline four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, generating a combined output of 210 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Both models utilize a CVT transmission to drive the front wheels.
The Lexus ES is now available in China, and other markets, such as the Philippines, may follow soon. While this facelift keeps the current model fresh, Lexus might also be preparing to launch the eighth generation in the near future.
