The second round proved difficult for many, with strong winds pushing the average score over par. Thomas and Fleetwood, however, thrived. Thomas fired a 6-under 64, propelled by a remarkable stretch of five consecutive birdies on the back nine. Fleetwood matched Thomas’s score with a 65,highlighted by two eagles on the 13th and 15th holes.
