- Vantrack has introduced the LC, a modular camper conversion for the fully electric Kia PV5 Passenger, priced at 10,000 Euro.
- The development of the LC follows a broader trend of modular accessory expansion for the Kia PV5, which has emerged as a versatile platform for electric vehicle conversions.
- While the Vantrack LC provides a higher-tier modular option, a more affordable entry point has been established through a partnership between Kia and the US-based startup Vanlab.
Vantrack has introduced the LC, a modular camper conversion for the fully electric Kia PV5 Passenger, priced at 10,000 Euro. The Vantrack LC is designed as a light camper setup intended for both daily utility and outdoor adventure.
The development of the LC follows a broader trend of modular accessory expansion for the Kia PV5, which has emerged as a versatile platform for electric vehicle conversions. The PV5 Passenger, which measures just under 470 cm in length, serves as the base for several different camping configurations entering the market.
Diversification of Camper Conversion Kits
While the Vantrack LC provides a higher-tier modular option, a more affordable entry point has been established through a partnership between Kia and the US-based startup Vanlab. On February 12, 2026, Vanlab delivered a camping kit that transforms the PV5 into a campsite, remote workspace, and lounge.
The Vanlab kit was launched in Korea as an official Kia Collection
product and is available via the Kia Shop website. In the Korean market, the kit is priced at 2,990,000 won, which is slightly over $2,000. This kit utilizes a flat-pack, IKEA-like assembly process that requires only a screwdriver for installation.
The Vanlab conversion includes several specific functional components:
- A full bed that can be created by rearranging the table and cushions.
- An outdoor kitchen featuring an induction cooktop, drawers, and counter space.
- An outdoor dining set with slide-out bench seats and a multi-positional swivel table.
- An indoor workstation and game lounge designed for use during inclement weather.
Technical Integration and Power Management
A central business and technical feature of these conversions is the integration with the vehicle’s electrical architecture. The PV5’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities allow the van to supply power directly to electric appliances, such as the induction hot plate and refrigerator included in the Vanlab kit, eliminating the need for gas-based cooking.
The focus on modularity and battery management is a key part of the PV5’s market positioning. On March 22, 2026, discussions regarding the PV5 camper series highlighted the importance of layout planning, off-grid capability, and modular design in maximizing the van’s utility.
Global Market Expansion
The rollout of PV5 camper solutions is expanding across several international markets. Vanlab has indicated that its conversion kits will become available in Europe, the UK, and Japan shortly after the Korean launch.
Further market activity was noted in Japan, where LAC Holdings presented the Kia PV5 camping car during an exclusive debut on March 27, 2026.
These production-ready kits follow earlier conceptual work by Kia. The company previously developed the WKNDR overland concept, which was showcased at Milan Design Week 2025 and SEMA. While the current production kits from Vantrack and Vanlab are less extreme than the WKNDR concept—which featured an expansion slide-out and a pop-up roof—they establish the commercial viability of the PV5 as a modular camper platform.
