2026 KTM 1390 Super Duke RR: First Look

KTM has announced the 2026 KTM 1390 Super Duke RR, an extreme performance variant of its naked bike platform. The new model focuses on significant weight reduction, upgraded suspension hardware and increased adjustability to enhance track and street performance.

The 1390 Super Duke RR represents the first double-R variant of the Super Duke line since 2021, when the 1290 model received the treatment. This latest version utilizes the current 1390 platform to push technical specifications further than the standard Super Duke R and the EVO version.

Weight Reduction and Material Engineering

A primary focus of the 1390 Super Duke RR is the reduction of mass. According to reporting from Motorcycle.com, the motorcycle has a claimed wet weight of 417 pounds, though KTM calculates this figure without fuel. This is a reduction of 25 pounds compared to the 442 pounds claimed for the standard Super Duke R.

KTM official documentation specifies that the RR is 11kg lighter than the base model it is derived from. This weight savings is achieved through the extensive use of carbon fiber in the bodywork, which is intended to increase overall stiffness while reducing bulk.

To improve high-speed stability, the motorcycle is equipped with aero winglets. These components are designed to manage airflow and provide added stability when the bike is operating at high velocities.

Suspension and Chassis Adjustability

The 1390 Super Duke RR replaces the WP APEX suspension found on the single-R model and the semi-active suspension used on the EVO version with a premium WP PRO COMPONENT system.

The front end is supported by a racing-focused closed cartridge spring fork. This system utilizes an internally pressurized reservoir to maintain consistent oil pressure, which KTM claims ensures precise damping. The fork allows for manual adjustment of both compression and rebound damping to suit different riding conditions.

Beyond the suspension, KTM has implemented a high level of ergonomic and mechanical adjustability. The following components are fully adjustable on the RR model:

• Handlebars
• Braking controls
• Shifting controls, including a custom shift lever throw
• Shift pattern, with the option for a reverse shift pattern

Powertrain and Technical Features

The motorcycle is powered by a 1350cc V-twin engine featuring CAMSHIFT technology, a system designed to optimize valve timing and engine performance.

The bike also introduces a new LED headlight design described as having a more aggressive front-end appearance. This lighting system includes signature daytime running lights that automatically adjust their intensity based on ambient light conditions. The headlight features a welcoming animation display upon activation and an automatic low beam that remains illuminated for several seconds after the ride has ended.

Market Availability

The 2026 KTM 1390 Super Duke RR is scheduled to arrive in European dealerships in Spring 2026.

As of April 14, 2026, availability for the United States market has not been confirmed. Industry expectations suggest that if the model is released in the U.S., it will likely be positioned as a 2027 model.
