Irvine, California – Get ready for a wave of world-class swimming! USA Swimming announced today that the prestigious William Woollett Junior Aquatics Center in Irvine, California, will host the 2026 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships.
This exciting event, held every four years, will bring together top swimmers from the United States, Canada, Japan, and Australia – the four Pan Pacific Charter Nations – along with high-profile guest competitors from around the globe.
The pool competition is scheduled for August 12-15, 2026, with the Open Water competition date to be announced later. This marks the first time as 2010 that the United States has hosted the Pan Pacific Championships.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the Pan Pacific Championships in 2026 and look forward to welcoming the best of the world to Southern California 16 years after we last hosted PanPacs at this very venue,” said USA Swimming COO and Interim CEO Shana Ferguson. “We extend our gratitude to the City of Irvine and the amazing staff of the Woollett Aquatics Center for having the vision to bring this event to life.”
The William Woollett Aquatics Center, a state-of-the-art facility, boasts two 50-metre pools and ample seating for athletes and spectators. It has a proven track record of hosting major swimming events, including the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships and numerous USA Swimming National Championships.
The decision to bring the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships to Southern California was made by the Charter Nations in 2023. This strategic move aims to further establish the sport in the region ahead of the highly anticipated LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
