According to official tournament results, the University of North Carolina Greensboro men’s golf team captured the team title at the 2026 Rod Myers Invitational, finishing with a 36-hole total of 556 at the Duke University Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina. UNCG shot matching rounds of 278 on the 7,154-yard, par-72 Blue Devil course to edge out runner-up UNCW by five strokes.
UNCW Secures Second Place as Harvard and Duke Follow
According to the final tournament results, UNCW finished second in the team standings with a total of 561, carding rounds of 283 and 278. Harvard took third place at 564 after shooting consecutive rounds of 282. Host institution Duke placed fourth with a total of 567, recovering from an opening round of 286 with a strong 281 on the final day. George Mason rounded out the top five teams at 571, powered by an impressive individual performance at the top of the leaderboard.
Vijay Powell Claims Individual Title for George Mason
George Mason’s Vijay Powell earned individual medalist honors by firing a 10-under-par total of 134, according to the tournament data. Powell opened with a 4-under 68 before carding a stellar 6-under 66 on the final 18 holes. UNCG’s Kelvin Hernandez finished alone in second place at 7-under 137, following rounds of 70 and 67. A large group tied for third at 6-under 138, including Jake Lewis of UNCG, William Ma of Harvard, and Craig Long II of Northern Illinois.

A total of 13 teams competed in the stroke-play tournament on the Blue Devil course. Xavier placed sixth at 572, while Furman and Northern Illinois tied for seventh at 574. Richmond secured ninth place with a score of 575. Wofford and UTSA finished in a tie for tenth at 579, followed by Princeton in twelfth at 586 and Virginia Tech in thirteenth at 587. Several individuals also competed unattached, with North Carolina’s Coltrane Mittag and Charles Nelson of Duke finishing among the top players in the field at 5-under 139.
