Lady Luck has struck in California. Lottery officials announced that a single ticket sold in Arleta, a Los Angeles suburb, matched all the numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing, netting its owner a cool $204.5 million. This Powerball win marks the fourth jackpot claimed this year.
The winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven on Woodman Avenue. The lucky player now faces a life-altering decision: accept the full jackpot amount in annual installments or take a one-time lump sum payment of $91.6 million before taxes.
The winning numbers for the May 31 drawing were 1, 29, 37, 56, 68, and the Powerball was 13.
