Hewlett-Packard (HP) owns several major technology brands spanning the computing, gaming, and audio hardware sectors, according to reporting by SlashGear. While many consumers view household names in electronics as independent companies, corporate acquisitions over the years have brought several prominent labels under the direct umbrella of HP Inc.

HyperX

HyperX operates as the gaming peripherals division of HP, focusing on headsets, keyboards, mice, and microphones. HP officially acquired the HyperX brand from Kingston Technology in 2021 for $425 million, expanding its footprint in the competitive PC gaming market. The hardware lineup continues to target enthusiasts and esports players with specialized audio gear and input devices.

Poly

Poly, formerly known as Plantronics and Polycom, manufactures enterprise-grade communication and collaboration hardware, including headsets, conference phones, and video cameras. HP completed the acquisition of Poly in 2022 for $3.3 billion to strengthen its position in hybrid work solutions and corporate office technology. The brand operates within HP to supply enterprise communication ecosystems.

VoodooPC

VoodooPC represents an early luxury and high-performance custom computer builder that HP acquired in 2006. Founded by Rahul Sood, the boutique brand was integrated into HP to influence its high-end gaming and desktop design philosophy. Elements from the acquisition eventually shaped parts of HP’s modern consumer desktop and gaming product lines.

Tandem Computers

Tandem Computers developed fault-tolerant computer systems for banks, telephone companies, and other high-availability enterprise markets before its acquisition by Compaq in 1997. Because HP later merged with Compaq in 2002, the legacy of Tandem’s mission-critical server technology ultimately folded into the broader corporate history and enterprise architecture of HP.
