40% Energy Savings: Sustainable Design at Gardea Residencial
Energy Efficiency at Gardea Residencial
Gardea Residencial is a new residential building located in Zaragoza‘s Miralbueno neighborhood. The project, completed by Tash & Partners, consists of two linear blocks with a total of 38 apartments ranging from two to four bedrooms. Each block features a basement, ground floor, and two to three additional storeys.
The building showcases a modern, functional design with a ventilated façade made from recyclable extruded porcelain tiles by Faveker. This choice in materials not only enhances sustainability but also improves energy efficiency. The façade incorporates tiled cladding that provides high durability and thermal performance.
The building’s design allows for energy savings of 40% due to its effective thermal envelope. The tongue-and-groove design of the ceramic panels prevents moisture ingress, making it suitable for climates with temperature variations. Additionally, up to 46% of the tile composition consists of recycled materials, contributing to a circular economy.
Each block features continuous terraces that help shield apartments from excessive summer sunlight, while the north-facing façades present a more uniform appearance. The project also includes commercial premises on the ground floor for community integration.
Residents benefit from outdoor terraces that capture sunlight, enhancing the living experience. The exterior includes a leisure area, play settings for children, and a swimming pool, promoting a sense of community.
Gardea Residencial combines architectural quality with sustainability and community engagement, making it a significant addition to Zaragoza’s urban landscape.
