Celebrating 40 Years of Teachers’ Day: Xitianwei Town Honors Outstanding Educators

Southeast Net, Putian, September 9 (Hu Yuwei text/photo) On September 9, the celebration of the 40th Teachers’ Day and the education work conference were held at the Xitianwei Town Central Primary School in Xitianwei Town, Licheng District, Putian City, commending 34 outstanding educators and 75 outstanding teachers in Xitianwei Town.

At the meeting, Chen Jun, secretary of the Party Committee of Xitianwei Town, reviewed the achievements of Xitianwei Town in education over the past year and congratulated the teachers who were commended. Chen Jun said that Xitianwei Town has always regarded education as “the foundation of a strong town, the focus of development, and the foundation of people’s livelihood”, and insisted on taking people’s satisfaction as the highest standard for testing educational work, actively solving various “urgent, difficult, anxious, and hopeful” problems of teachers and students, and constantly accelerating the construction of educational projects, improving the level of school management, and keeping the bottom line of campus safety, so as to achieve new breakthroughs in improving the quality of education and create new brilliance.

In 2024, Xitianwei Town issued a total of 324,000 yuan in teaching awards and scholarships, and awarded and subsidized 4 doctoral students, 39 master’s students, and 137 undergraduates.

“Our work is ordinary but of extraordinary significance. Education is not just about imparting knowledge, but also about guiding children to discover themselves and explore the world.” Huang Liling, principal of Longshan Primary School, said that they will continue to bear in mind the sacred mission of “educating people for the Party and cultivating talents for the country” and create new achievements for Xitianwei Town.
