Campaign overview
A two-week family planning campaign, themed ”The Golden Alpha Journey… begins with a step,” concluded on September 18, 2025, across the Ismailia Governorate. The initiative aimed to provide free reproductive health services to women throughout the province.
The campaign, organized by the Ministry of Health and Population, operated through both fixed clinics and mobile units to maximize accessibility. It was implemented in two phases, targeting different areas of the governorate sequentially.
Service Delivery and Beneficiaries
A total of 4,623 women benefited from the campaign’s services. During the frist week (September 7-13, 2025), services where concentrated in Ismailia city, Abu Suwair, Al-Qassasin, and the Great Hill, reaching 2,936 women. The second week (September 14-18, 2025) focused on Fayed, Qantara West, and Qantara East, serving an additional 1,687 women.
Services included family planning methods, prenatal care, and general reproductive health advice. According to Dr. Iman Al-Hamaki, Director of the Family Planning Department in Ismailia, 4,062 women received family planning methods, 424 women underwent screenings, and 25 received pregnancy follow-up care. Additionally, 146 ultrasounds were performed, and 4,574 individuals received counseling and data.
Addressing Misinformation and Promoting Awareness
The campaign also prioritized raising awareness about family planning and combating misinformation surrounding maternal and child health. Awareness seminars were conducted to educate the public and address common concerns,notably regarding the safety and efficacy of family planning methods. The initiative emphasized the importance of informed decision-making regarding reproductive health.
