Five-time All-American Cohlton Schultz is representing Team USA at the Senior World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, marking his fifth career appearance for Team USA at the tournament. The 130 kg Greco-Roman competition is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 10:30 p.m. MST, with the overall Senior Worlds event running from Oct. 24 through Nov. 1.
Schultz enters the tournament following a successful year that featured a gold medal at the Pan-Am games, a silver medal at the Zagreb Open Ranking Series event in Croatia, and a U.S. Open championship title. During his collegiate career as a heavyweight, the Sun Devil Wrestling alumnus compiled a 109-18 record, became the only five-time All-American in program history, secured four Pac-12 Championships from 2021 to 2024, and finished as a Big 12 finalist. He was also named USA Wrestling’s Greco-Roman Wrestler of the Year in 2024.

Historical Context at Senior Worlds
Schultz’s latest campaign follows previous results at the tournament, including a 16th-place finish in Zagreb, Croatia in 2025 where he fell by decision to Sergei Semenov, and a 10th-place finish in 2023 after dropping a match to Armenia’s David Ovasapyan. Having spent seven years representing the red, white, and blue since 2019, Schultz stands alongside current head coach Zeke Jones—the lone Sun Devil to win in his Senior Worlds weight class in 1991 at 52 kg—as part of the program’s history at the Senior World Championships.
