50 Cent Seizes ex-Executive’s Home Over embezzlement Debt
Updated May 28, 2025
Curtis Jackson III, known as 50 cent, has successfully pursued the Connecticut home of Mitchell Green, a former executive at his Sire Spirits company. A federal judge granted permission last week to seize the property as partial payment toward a $7 million debt stemming from Green’s embezzlement. The legal battle, initiated after Green confessed to a kickback scheme involving wholesalers, spanned more then four years.
Sire Spirits manages Jackson’s Branson Cognac and Chemin du Roi Champagne. Green admitted in February 2020 to inflating prices and receiving kickbacks disguised as “agency fees.” the scheme, which ran from 2018 to 2020, involved $2.2 million in kickbacks until a blackmail attempt prompted Green to confess.
In September 2021, Sire Spirits sought confirmation from the U.S. District Court, New York Southern, for an arbitration agreement awarding nearly $3.5 million in damages. By november 2022,the final judgment, including legal fees, reached approximately $6.3 million. Green filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in March 2023, but Sire Spirits secured a judgment lien against his Westport, Conn., home.
Attorneys for Sire Spirits successfully petitioned the bankruptcy judge to lift an automatic stay protecting Green’s home, arguing that green lacked equity in the property due to the substantial judgment against him. The home was recently appraised at $1 million, which will be credited toward the $7 million debt, including interest.
While Jackson has recently promoted Branson Cognac on social media, he has not directly commented on the legal victory. Instead, he has been publicly mocking Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing a federal sex trafficking and conspiracy trial.
“Cut, CUT… Wait a minute PUFFY’s got a gun, I can’t believe this I don’t feel safe … LOL,” Jackson posted on social media, referencing testimony from Combs’ former assistant.
