5th Annual SW Bricktown Fiesta Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month in Hutchinson

Presented by Midwest Superstore, the event kicks off at 3 p.m. with live boxing exhibitions organized by the Reno County Boxing Academy, as reported by HutchPost. General fiesta activities, including food vendors, music, kids’ entertainment, and a cultural bazaar, will begin at 5 p.m., with surrounding streets closing for setup at 9 a.m.
Community Growth and New Additions for 2025
The neighborhood celebration has expanded steadily since its inception. Adam Pina, a member of the Southwest Bricktown Association, noted the event’s evolution.
We started the Fiesta to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month and bring the community together. It’s grown every year — we’ve got more food trucks, new activities, and great entertainment for the whole family.

This year’s festival features a food truck lineup emphasizing authentic Mexican fare alongside other cuisines. A newly added arts-and-crafts bazaar aims to showcase local artisans and vendors, bringing a traditional marketplace experience to Hutchinson, according to Pina’s statements cited by HutchPost.
Entertainment and Family Activities
The evening entertainment features DJ 620 in the Mix, alongside a live performance from Circuito Norteño, also known as Eclipse, playing traditional Hispanic music. Families can utilize a dedicated kids’ zone with inflatables, while adults can access a designated beer garden.
The boxing exhibition requires a separate $10 admission fee, with proceeds directly supporting the Reno County Boxing Academy youth programs and travel expenses.
Broader Neighborhood Initiatives
Organized by the Southwest Bricktown Association—one of several neighborhood groups formed under the Healthy Neighborhood Initiative—the Fiesta serves a larger purpose than a one-day gathering. The association works year-round on local improvement projects, tree removal, home repairs, and connecting residents with city services.
Our commitment goes beyond hosting a single annual celebration; we are dedicated to assisting our local residents through services ranging from tree clearing and property fixes to linking them with municipal resources.

Proceeds generated from the annual Fiesta help fund these ongoing community activities and may soon support a future scholarship program for local students. The association holds monthly meetings alternating between Hutch Rec offices and Avenue A School, welcoming new participants from across the community.
