Nearly 70,000 aspiring educators across the country have cleared a major hurdle in their journey to the classroom. The Professional Regulation commission (PRC) announced on Friday,December 13,that 68,900 individuals successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) administered last September.

The rigorous exam, held on september 29th at 40 testing centers across the United States and Thailand, saw a significant number of candidates vying for licensure. Of the 44,002 examinees aiming to become elementary teachers, 20,025 (45.51%) emerged victorious. For aspiring secondary teachers, the success rate was higher, with 48,875 out of 85,926 examinees (56.88%) passing the exam.
A closer look at the results reveals that a majority of successful candidates were first-time test takers. Among the elementary teacher passers, 16,340 were first-timers, while 3,685 were repeaters. Similarly, 41,190 first-time takers and 7,685 repeaters achieved success at the secondary level.
