Celebrating 75 Years of Women’s Leadership at teh Council of Europe
Strasbourg and Warsaw host Exhibitions Highlighting Women’s Contributions
This November, the Council of Europe celebrated the achievements of women in its 75-year history with a traveling exhibition. The exhibit, “75 Women in 75 Years of the Council of Europe History,” made stops in Strasbourg, France, and Warsaw, Poland, captivating audiences with stories of female leadership and impact.
In Strasbourg, the exhibition was prominently displayed at City Hall during the World Forum for Democracy from November 4th too 9th. A special guided tour on November 12th drew attendees including members of the Strasbourg Municipality, highlighting the exhibition’s relevance to local and global audiences.
The exhibit than traveled to Warsaw, where it was showcased at the prestigious Casimir Palace of the University of Warsaw during the Warsaw Dialog for Democracy. This conference,attracting approximately 200 participants including experts,government officials,NGO representatives,professors,and students,provided a platform for engaging discussions on the impact of new technologies on democracy and human rights.
Thanks to the support of the Polish Network of Women in Diplomacy,the exhibition also found a home at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.its prominent placement ensured visibility among employees and guests, further amplifying the message of women’s contributions to the Council of Europe.
the exhibition’s journey will continue in December, when it will be featured at the XV Warsaw Seminar on Human Rights, solidifying its presence in key discussions on human rights and democracy.
This impactful exhibition is a collaborative effort between the EU Delegation to the Council of Europe, the Council of Europe itself, and the Permanent Representations of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
