South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers, a projected top-five NFL draft pick in 2026, reportedly turned down an $8 million NIL offer to transfer to another school. His father, Norris Sellers, said the offer was made after LaNorris’s successful 2024 season, but the family decided to remain with the Gamecocks.
Sellers threw for 2,534 yards with a 65.6% completion rate and 18 touchdowns in 2024, adding 674 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. After overcoming turnover issues early in the season, he led South Carolina to six straight wins.
Sellers initially committed to Syracuse before flipping to South Carolina. He served as a backup to Spencer Rattler before taking over as the starter.
“We didn’t come here to make money,” Norris Sellers said. “We came here to get our education, play ball… If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. You’re 19. You don’t need ($8 million). You’re in a great spot.”
Dowell Loggains,the Gamecocks’ offensive coordinator,believes Sellers will continue to improve. “This kid has created an unbelievable buzz of splash plays,” Loggains said, adding that Sellers will improve his intermediate accuracy.
