Major League Baseball unveiled a new wave of City Connect uniforms for eight different clubs on April 9, 2026. This second installment of the City Connect series, referred to by MLB as City Connect 2.0, introduces bold new looks for the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, and Texas Rangers.

The City Connect program was first launched in 2021 to provide teams with alternate uniforms featuring novel color schemes, graphics, and typefaces designed to reflect the cultural identity of their home cities. Under the program’s rules, teams are permitted to rotate in a new jersey design after three years.

For the eight teams involved in the April 9, 2026 announcement, these uniforms represent their second iteration of the City Connect brand. Each club collaborated with Nike and Fanatics, the official uniform manufacturers for MLB, to develop designs that build upon previous styling while exploring additional aspects of their respective regions, histories, and fan bases.

Design Details for the 2026 Collection

MLB described the new uniforms as reflective of the energy and pride of each club’s community, utilizing bold and expressive interpretations that celebrate both team history and what’s ahead for the game.

Design Details for the 2026 Collection

The Atlanta Braves drew inspiration from the powder blue uniforms worn during the 1980s. The modernized design incorporates red piping, an updated Atlanta script, and a block letter ATL patch on the sleeve, pairing a throwback style with the team’s contemporary color scheme.

The Baltimore Orioles focused on deep historical and local ties. The team utilized the 1890s Baltimore Baseball Club for the B featured on the cap. The uniform includes motifs paying tribute to Camden Yards, specifically incorporating the wrought-iron scoreboard clock and the brass home run plaques. The design also features an Oriole bird positioned atop BMORE lettering.

The remaining teams receiving new looks in this wave include:

  • Cincinnati Reds
  • Kansas City Royals
  • Milwaukee Brewers
  • Pittsburgh Pirates
  • San Diego Padres
  • Texas Rangers

Implementation and Availability

These new uniforms will be integrated into the on-field rotation for each of the eight clubs for multiple upcoming seasons. MLB has made the jerseys available for purchase through MLBShop.com.

The rollout occurred prior to the start of the regular season, following a partnership period between the teams and the manufacturers to ensure the designs captured the intended community and regional pride.
