800 Pound Gorilla Media is launching Gorilla Comedy+, a new stand-up comedy streaming service set to debut on May 5, 2026. The platform will offer exclusive access to new specials alongside the company’s existing catalog of more than 250 titles.
At launch, subscribers will receive first access to Patton Oswalt’s latest hour-long special, “Tea and Scotch,” as well as new releases from Pete Holmes, Sal Vulcano, Emmy Blotnick, Jourdain Fisher, Nish Kumar, and other comedians. The service will be ad-free and available on TV, mobile apps, and web browsers.
Gorilla Comedy+ will be priced at $9.99 per month or $99.99 annually in the United States, with international pricing subject to variation by territory. The company describes the platform as a direct-to-fan offering designed to give comedians greater control over their work while providing audiences with a curated stand-up experience.
According to Ryan Bitzer, co-founder of 800 Pound Gorilla Media, the service aims to complement existing partnerships and simplify discovery for fans seeking the comedians they already follow. Damion Greiman, also a co-founder, emphasized that Gorilla Comedy+ is intended to serve as a centralized hub for the comedy community, addressing a gap he observed after a decade of working within the industry.
The launch marks 800 Pound Gorilla Media’s expansion into streaming, building on its history as a distributor of stand-up comedy albums and television specials. Founded in 2016 in Nashville, Tennessee, the company represents over 400 comedians and has previously collaborated with entities such as Kevin Hart’s LOL Network and Bill Burr’s All Things Comedy through distribution and marketing partnerships.
Gorilla Comedy+ will enter a competitive streaming landscape but differentiates itself by focusing exclusively on stand-up comedy, offering both new exclusive specials and access to an established library from one of the comedy industry’s prominent independent distributors.
