90 Powerhouse CEOs Unite: A Groundswell of Support for Harris Gains Momentum
Kamala Harris Gains Support from Corporate CEOs and Law Enforcement Officials
With the U.S. presidential election just two months away, more than 90 corporate CEOs and over 100 current and former law enforcement officials have officially endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris.
Among the businesspeople supporting Vice President Harris are Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, former CEO of 21st Century Fox James Murdoch, and Laurene Powell Jobs, wife of the late Apple founder Steve Jobs and head of the Emerson Collective.
Global pharmaceutical company Merck, insurance company Aetna, the world’s No. 1 domain management company GoDaddy, the world’s largest private equity fund Blackstone, and the former CEO of Starbucks have also decided to join in support.
In their letter, they said they believed Harris would strengthen the American economy and protect democracy. “Harris will continue to advance fair and predictable policies that support the rule of law, stability, and a strong business environment,” they said, adding that she would “fight to give every American the opportunity to pursue the American Dream.”
Vice President Harris previously announced an economic platform focused on helping new homebuyers, increasing housing supply and curbing food price increases for big businesses. Her proposed corporate tax rate hike (from 21% to 28%) also won support from major labor groups.
Goldman Sachs recently predicted in a report that if Vice President Harris is elected, the U.S. job market will strengthen and GDP will slightly increase in terms of investment and growth.
Approximately 100 current and former U.S. law enforcement officials also officially declared their support for Harris, criticizing Trump for “showing no respect for the judiciary and the rule of law.”
