Young European ambassadors: 97 New Voices Ready to Shape the Future of the Western Balkans
Brussels, Belgium – A new generation of young leaders is stepping up to champion European values and integration in the Western Balkans. The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) network has welcomed 97 passionate individuals from across the region, ready to make their mark on the future.This year’s Call for Applications saw an overwhelming response, with 1,347 applications initiated and 341 successfully submitted. The initiative, led by the WeBalkans team in collaboration with the European union’s Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement (DG NEAR), specifically targeted young people from diverse and marginalized backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity and portrayal from geographically isolated communities and minority groups.Among the new YEAs are 15 inspiring individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina: Amina Hadzic, Alen Kubat, Emina Pasanovic, Petar Spaic, Marija Malic, Mia Selena Lerch, Vanja Gojic, Adna Mujic, Teodora Ruzic, Naida Odobasic, Emina Odobasic, Nudzejma Karajic, Kenan Fehric, Tesnim Karisik Spahic, and Azra Mehmedovic.
These new members join the existing network of YEAs from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, north Macedonia, and Serbia, expanding the platform to a vibrant community of 240 young ambassadors.
