Astros’ Isaac Paredes Exits Game with ‍Hamstring Injury

Houston Astros’ Isaac​ Paredes, a key player this season, exited ‍Thursday’s 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox⁤ with a left hamstring injury. the third baseman, who hit his 15th home run earlier in the game, appeared to hurt⁣ himself running ​to first base on⁣ a double play ball.

Manager Joe​ Espada said Paredes will undergo evaluation Friday before​ the series against the Minnesota Twins.the team expects to have a ‌clearer picture of his⁢ condition then.

“his approach,he’s a pro at-bat,” espada said.”That was a ​big homer there. That was the winning run. Defensively, he’s just been a force on our team.”

Rookie Colton Gordon (1-1,5.11 ERA) is slated to start for Houston. He earned his first win June 6 against Cleveland, allowing one run on seven hits ⁤over five innings. This will be his ​first career appearance against the Twins.

Minnesota will counter with right-hander Chris Paddack (2-5, 3.53 ERA). Paddack received a ‌no-decision in his last start against Toronto. In two career starts against Houston, Paddack has a 5.40 ERA.

Byron ⁣Buxton is making ⁤a significant impact for Minnesota as returning from the injured list May 30. Since his return, ⁢Buxton is batting .333 with‍ one home run and 14 RBIs.

“I haven’t noticed anything but him playing great baseball since he’s been back,” Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said. “I think he’s‌ playing really, ⁤really good ⁤on both sides of the ball ​right now. And on the bases, too.”
