## A Shifting Relationship: From “Very Pleasant” to Hostile
During a recent interview, Trump recalled his past relationship with Diddy as “very friendly.” He elaborated, “I got along with him great, and [he] seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well.” However, Trump acknowledged that their relationship has since become strained.
“When I ran for office, he was very hostile,” Trump stated.”It’s hard, you know? We’re human beings.And we don’t like to have things cloud our judgment, right? But when you knew someone and you were fine, and then you run for office, and he made some terrible statements. So I don’t know …. it makes it more difficult to do.”
This sentiment echoes comments Trump made in May during a press conference. When questioned about pardoning Diddy, Trump indicated he would need to “look” into the specifics of the case. At that time, he admitted he hadn’t been closely following the highly publicized trial against Combs, despite its media attention.
Trump reiterated that his friendship with Diddy soured after he entered the political arena. “He used to really like me a lot,but I think when I ran for politics,it busted up that relationship from what I read,” he said. Nevertheless, Trump maintained that he would review the ”facts” of the situation before making any decision.

Well, he was essentially, I guess, sort of half innocent. Probably- I was very friendly with him but when I ran for office he was very hostile and it’s hard. So, I don’t know, it’s more difficult.
