León, Guanajuato.- With more than 1,500 participants and 11 blocks representing the future, present, and past of León, the 450th anniversary parade of León amazed families and visitors with performances, dances, pre-Hispanic dances, and floats with motifs representative of the municipality’s history.
Shortly before 9:00 a.m., more than 70,000 people gathered on the streets of the downtown area with their folding chairs and breakfasts in hand, to secure a place on the front row for the 450th anniversary parade of León.
The route began in Parque hidalgo, continuing along López Mateos boulevard with four strategic stops, until arriving inside the Feria de León.
The parade’s theme started in the future, moved thru the present, and then colored the past of the city of León, where various floats showcased monuments and characteristic trades, such as footwear, the Expiatory Temple, and the Arco de la Calzada.
