After a two-year hiatus, German broadcaster ZDF is bringing back its popular Saturday night show, “Wetten, dass..?” (“Bet that…?”), wiht two new hosts.
Thomas Gottschalk hosted his final episode in November 2023,36 years after frist taking the helm. As then, speculation has swirled about the future of the show adn who woudl take on the hosting duties. Now, ZDF appears to have found its answer.
The new hosts are Bill Kaulitz, known as the frontman of the band Tokio Hotel, and Laura Karasek, a journalist and television personality, ZDF announced Saturday. They will debut in the role this fall.
“I’m really looking forward to this new challenge,” Kaulitz said in a statement. Karasek added that she was “honored” to be part of the showS revival.
“Wetten, dass..?” was a television staple in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for decades, known for its audience challenges and celebrity guests. Its decline in viewership led to its cancellation,but ZDF hopes the new hosts will revitalize the format.
