Bobby Duncum Sr. Obituary: Wrestling Legend Dies at 81

Bobby Duncum Sr.has ⁤passed away.

Trained​ by Dory Funk Jr, Duncum wrestled⁢ with the NWA, AWA, and Vince McMahon⁢ Sr.’s World Wide Wrestling Federation during his career, which spanned⁣ from 1966 to 1986. Prior to his wrestling career, he played⁢ football at West texas State, later being drafted to the Arizona​ Cardinals (then the St. Louis Cardinals)​ in 1967.

WWE announced news of Duncum’s passing on Wednesday,writing:

“Carrying on the great tradition of Texas football stars turned pro wrestlers,Duncum entered ‍the‌ ring and became infamous‍ for his wild street fights and brutal battles against WWE Legends like Bruno Sammartino and Bob Backlund. he was also ⁣a member of the iconic Heenan Family, led by ⁣WWE Hall of Famer⁢ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, in the AWA.”

Duncam Sr. ⁢is the father ‌of ⁣WCW wrestler Bobby Duncum ⁣Jr,who passed in 2000 at ⁢the‌ age of 34.

The Cauliflower Alley Club wrote of Duncum’s passing:

“Our ​heartfelt​ condolences to⁢ the family, friends, and fans of ‍the legendary Bobby Duncan, who has passed ‍away⁣ at​ the age of 81. Bobby’s unique voice, toughness,⁣ dedication, and contributions to the sport left a lasting mark on⁣ professional wrestling. ⁢Rest in peace.”
