Park City Winter Escape: Après Ski Cocktails & Travel Guide

A Solo Trip to ⁤Utah Redefined Winter Joy

This December, rather of⁤ exhausting myself trying to fulfill⁢ everyone else’s holiday expectations, I booked a flight to Utah ‍seeking a personal reset. What I found was a surprising sense of belonging⁣ and a redefined ‌understanding of who gets to experience winter⁢ luxury.

Landing in Salt Lake City, the airport immediately felt welcoming and upscale. Families eagerly greeted loved‌ ones returning from missionary trips⁣ with visible warmth.‌ As a Black woman visiting Utah for the first time,I ⁤braced for feeling out of place. Instead, I felt ⁤grounded, curious,‌ and remarkably cozy.

Utah isn’t a typical destination people associate with Black women, ⁤particularly during ski ⁣season. Yet,‌ every interaction challenged that assumption. I was ⁣reminded that luxury, rest, and ‌winter joy aren’t exclusive; they’re for everyone. There‌ was a quiet power in fully embracing‌ the experience - wearing my best ⁢winter clothes, enjoying cocktails, taking ski lessons, and prioritizing‌ a holiday retreat centered around my own needs. Park City gently encouraged me to broaden my idea of where I’m allowed to feel ‌at ease.

The drive to⁣ park City was breathtaking. Snow-covered⁢ mountains and winding roads created a cinematic landscape reminiscent of classic holiday films. Arriving at the Westgate Park city Resort, I realized I’d entered ⁢the winter escape‌ I’d only dreamed of. My one-bedroom suite⁣ was a true sanctuary, ⁣complete with‍ a fireplace, ⁣spacious living area,‌ plush bedding, and a luxurious soaking tub.
