Caraga Region to Showcase Diverse Tourism Offerings at ASEAN Tourism Forum 2026
The Department of Tourism-Caraga (DOT Caraga) will promote destinations beyond Siargao Island’s surfing scene at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026, held in Mactan, Cebu, from January 28 to 30. While siargao remains Caraga’s most well-known attraction, DOT Caraga aims to highlight the region’s broader tourism potential.
The ATF is an annual event designed to promote ASEAN as a unified tourism destination. The 2026 forum, hosted by the Philippines, marks the 45th anniversary of the event, which began in malaysia in 1981.
DOT Caraga Regional Director Ivonnie Dumadag stated the region’s participation reflects its new branding, “Caraga Beyond Its Waves.” This branding initiative focuses on showcasing destinations and experiences beyond surfing.
