Ski Jumper Bans Following Controversial Incident at World Championships

by David Thompson - Sports Editor

A⁤ bizarre ⁣scene unfolded at the Ski Flying World Championships in Oberstdorf: reigning individual world champion Domen Prevc lost ⁢his skis and was unable to compete, costing Slovenia a likely medal.Even the commentator expressed astonishment.

you don’t see this every day. As Norwegian Marius Lindvik‍ prepared ‌for his jump at⁣ the takeoff, a pair of skis ⁢slid down from‌ above, one striking his⁢ foot before ⁢gliding⁤ down ‌the inrun and‍ off the jump. The commentator⁣ on⁤ Swiss⁤ broadcaster SRF exclaimed, “Wow, I’ve ⁤really never‍ seen that before. The skis ‌forgot the jumper.”

It quickly became clear the skis belonged to none other than Domen Prevc,⁢ the season’s dominant ski jumper. The Slovenian apparently left his skis in a position after material control where they slid off ‍on their own in the wet snowfall.
