Sport Industry Group have announced the launch of the inaugural Sport Industry Padel Cup, set to take place in April at Rocket Padel, during the week leading up to the 25th anniversary of the Sport Industry Awards.
Created to mark a landmark year for the Awards, the event will bring together professionals from across the sport industry to compete in mixed-gender teams, combining competitive play with high-quality networking in the build-up to one of the most significant moments in the Awards’ history.
For this inaugural edition, companies will be able to enter a team of two, putting forward a mixed pairing to compete for the Sport Industry Padel Cup title. The winning team will be crowned live on stage at the Sport Industry Awards later that week, giving the competition a unique platform as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations.
Dylan Pugh, Managing Director, Sport Industry Group, said, “We’re really excited to announce the launch of the Sport Industry Padel Cup as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations. It feels like the perfect opportunity to bring the industry together around a sport that’s growing rapidly in the UK and genuinely fun to play.
“The mixed-gender format is hugely important to us. It reflects the way the sport industry works at its best – inclusive, collaborative and competitive. Launching this in the week leading up to the Sport Industry Awards, and then crowning the winners on stage, gives it a real sense of occasion and allows us to celebrate the industry’s best padel players on the biggest night of the year!“
The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) is confirmed as an Official Partner of the Sport Industry Padel Cup, with the LTA and SIG collaborating year-round to support and promote the growth of the game.
Tom Murray, LTA’s Head of Padel said, “I am delighted to announce that the LTA is now an official partner of the Sport Industry Padel Cup. 2025 marked a landmark year for padel in Great Britain, and its popularity continues to grow into 2026.
“Padel has quickly established itself as a unique platform for business networking and corporate entertainment, while its inclusive, social format, including mixed-gender teams at the inaugural Sport Industry Padel Cup, makes it accessible and appealing to a wide range of participants.”
