the US Department of Justice has released millions of new files related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, marking the largest number of documents shared by the goverment as a law mandated their release last year.
Three million pages, 180,000 images and 2,000 videos were published on Friday.
The disclosure comes six weeks after the department missed President Donald Trump’s deadline that all documents related to Epstein be shared with the public.
“Today’s release marks the end of a very thorough document identification and review process to ensure transparency and compliance with the American people,” said Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
The files include details about Jeffrey Epstein’s time in prison – including a psycho

The BBC has contacted Andrew, formerly known as the Duke of York, for a response. Mountbatten-Windsor has come under years of scrutiny for her former friendship with Epstein. He has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
Some emails in the latest post appear to be between Epstein and Sarah Ferguson, Andrew’s ex-wife.
An email dated April 4, 2009 was signed: “Love, Redhead Sarah!”
He says he was going to be in Palm Beach, Florida, and wanted to have tea. The email goes on to talk about ideas for Ferguson’s company, Mother’s Army. The former Duchess of York refers to epstein as “My dear, spectacular, special friend Jeffrey.”
She calls him a “legend” and says “I’m so proud of you.”
The financier was still under house arrest for his 2008 conviction when the email exchange occurred.
Trump is mentioned hundreds of times
The president of the United States is mentioned hundreds of times in the files that have just been published. Trump maintElon Musk asked Epstein when the ‘craziest party’ on his island will be
The documents also include email correspondence between Epstein and technology billionaire Elon Musk.
Musk, who has not been charged with any crime in the case, has previously said that Epstein had invited him to his island, but he had turned him down.
The new emails show that Musk had discussed traveling there on more than one occasion, including a proposed trip in 2012, in which he asked epstein: “What day/night will be the craziest party on your island?”
Messages from November 2012 show that epstein asked Musk how many people he would need to transport by helicopter to the island and musk responded that it would just be him and his then-wife, Talulah riley.
In an email sent by Musk to Epstein on christmas in 2012, Musk asks if the financier had any parties planned as he needed to “let loose.”
“I’ve been working at the edge of my sanity this year, and so once my kids come home from christmas, I really want to party in st. barts or somewhere else and relax,” she writes, adding that a “quiet island experience” is the opposite of what she wants.4cjt0 e1yuyadm0″>One is written as a resignation letter from the Bill & Melinda gates Foundation and complains that Gates had to get medication “to deal with the consequences of having sexual relations with Russian girls.”
The other, beginning with “dear Bill,” complains about Gates ending a friendship and claims that Gates has tried to cover up a sexually transmitted infection, including from his then-wife, Melinda.
A spokesman for Gates told the BBC: “These claims, from a disgusted and proven liar, are absolutely absurd and completely false.”
He added: ”The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration at not having an ongoing relationship with gates and the lengths he would go to to set up and defame.”

Censorship and identification of victims
Many of the documents released Friday include critically importent redactions. the law requires that redactions only be made to protect victims or facts under investigation. It also requires a summary of what was censored and its legal basis.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the redactions were intended to protect victims and that the Justice Department had assigned hundreds of employees to review the documents for more than two months to ensure thay were released quickly.
Gloria Allred, a women’s rights lawyer who has represented many of Epstein’s victims, told the BBC that the latest release had revealed the names of numerous survivors, including some who had not previously been publicly identified.
Allred criticized Blanche’s expressed hope that the publication would “close the case” for the victims, calling it “ridiculous.”
“They have devastated many of these survivors by publicly revealing their names,” Allred said.
“In some cases… they have a line that crosses out the names but you can still read them.
“In other cases, they have shown photographs of victims, survivors who have never done a public interview, have never given their name publicly.”

the Justice Department’s release of Jeffrey Epstein case files has been widely criticized after heavily redacted documents were initially published, then quickly taken down. Attorney Gloria Allred said her team was working with the department to identify further redactions needed to protect victims’ identities, but many people had already downloaded the files. Allred described the situation as “a complete disaster,” stating the department “hit rock bottom” and “should be ashamed of itself.” The BBC has contacted the Department of Justice for comment. It’s unclear if this marks the end of the document release. Deputy Attorney General Elizabeth Blanche said Friday’s delivery “marks the end of a very thorough document identification and review process,” suggesting the U.S. Department of Justice considers its work on the matter complete.
