Kuwait has undergone a cabinet reshuffle, with several key ministerial positions changing hands, according to an Emiri decree issued on Sunday. The changes, announced by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, affect eight ministerial posts, including Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Information.

Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has been appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs. Yaqoub Yousef Al-Sayed Hashem Al-Rifai will serve as the Minister of Finance. Osama Khalid Abdullah Boodai is the newly appointed Minister of Trade and Industry. Reem Ghazi Saud Al-Faleej has been named Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs.

Further appointments include Tariq Hamad Nasser Al-Jalahma as Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Abdul Aziz Nasser Abdul Aziz Al Marzouq as Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, and Abdullah Subaih Abdullah Buftain as the Minister of Information and Culture. Omar Saud Abdulaziz Al-Omar has been appointed as Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, in addition to his existing responsibilities.

The reshuffle comes as part of the government’s efforts to enhance executive performance and address the requirements of the next stage of national development, according to the decree. The move is intended to contribute to advancing reform and development within the country.

Notably, Abdullah Boftain’s resignation as Minister of Information and Culture has been accepted, and Omar Al-Omar will serve as acting minister in that role, pending the full assumption of duties by his replacement. This transition occurred alongside the broader cabinet changes.
