IZCO Announces Debut Album ‘Powerscraft’ & New Single “Strike A Pose” | The Fader

East London producer IZCO is poised to make a significant mark on the UK electronic music scene with the upcoming release of his debut album, Powerscroft, on . The announcement comes alongside the release of the lead single, “Strike A Pose,” featuring vocals from R&B singer Camille Munn.

“Strike A Pose” is described as a track built around a “jangling broken beat rhythm” and enhanced with “ear candy marimbas,” creating a hypnotic soundscape for Munn’s vocals. IZCO himself explained the song’s core theme, stating it’s “about when someone changes and it’s hard to recognize them.” This introspective lyricism suggests a depth beyond the dancefloor, hinting at the album’s exploration of personal transformation and identity.

IZCO’s journey to this debut album has been marked by collaboration and a deep immersion in the UK’s vibrant dance music landscape. He’s a founding member of the Brighter Days Family collective, alongside artists like Nia Archives and Reek0, a testament to his commitment to fostering a community within the scene. This collective clearly positions IZCO within a network of forward-thinking artists pushing the boundaries of UK electronic music.

While Powerscroft represents IZCO’s first full-length solo effort, he’s hardly a newcomer to the industry. His production credits already include work with some of the most exciting names in contemporary music. He co-produced PinkPantheress’ breakout hit “Passion” alongside JKarri, demonstrating his ability to contribute to commercially successful and critically acclaimed projects. Further collaborations include work with Katy B, Greentea Peng, and even reggae icon Bob Andy, showcasing the breadth of his musical interests and versatility.

The album itself, named after the road where IZCO grew up, is described as a “personal and expansive record” that blends a diverse range of influences – jungle, broken beat, grime, garage, soul, and dub. This suggests Powerscroft won’t be easily categorized, instead offering a unique sonic experience rooted in IZCO’s decade-long involvement in shaping UK dance music. The album aims to capture the energy of the dancefloor while remaining deeply connected to themes of memory, identity, and instinct.

The tracklist for Powerscroft reveals a collaborative spirit, featuring a number of guest appearances. Reek0 appears on two tracks, “Japan Greatly” and “Somebody Jump,” highlighting the strong working relationship between the two artists. Other featured artists include S.I, P Wavey, Osquello, PK, and Liam Bailey, each contributing to the album’s diverse sonic palette. The inclusion of these artists suggests IZCO is building a cohesive project that draws strength from a wider network of talent.

Available for pre-order now via Brownswood Recordings, Powerscroft can be purchased as a digital album for £11 GBP, or as a 12” black vinyl record with a digital download for £25 GBP. Pre-ordering grants immediate access to two tracks from the album: “Strike a Pose” and “Guiding Star.” The vinyl edition is slated to ship around , coinciding with the album’s official release.

To support the album launch, IZCO will embark on a UK tour beginning in late February and continuing through May. While specific dates haven’t been detailed, the tour will culminate in a performance at London’s Jazz Cafe, suggesting a focus on live performance and connecting with audiences directly. This tour is a key component of the album’s rollout, providing a platform to showcase the music and build momentum.

The release of Powerscroft marks a defining moment for IZCO, transitioning him from a sought-after producer and collaborator to a fully-fledged solo artist. With a diverse range of influences, a strong network of collaborators, and a clear artistic vision, IZCO is well-positioned to make a lasting impact on the UK electronic music scene and beyond. The album’s exploration of themes like change and identity, coupled with its blend of genres, suggests a project that is both musically compelling and emotionally resonant.
