Motorcyclist Dies in Wilmington Crash
A 29-year-old Wilmington man died Tuesday evening after a collision involving a motorcycle and two other vehicles in Wilmington, Delaware. The crash occurred on February 3, 2026, at approximately 8:20 p.m., at the intersection of South Maryland Avenue and Reamer Avenue, according to the Delaware State Police.
Troopers responding to the scene found a Harley-Davidson motorcycle had collided with a Toyota Tacoma. Preliminary investigations indicate the Toyota Tacoma was stopped in the left lane of eastbound South Maryland Avenue, preparing to turn left onto Reamer Avenue. Simultaneously, a Dodge Ram was stopped at the stop sign on southbound Reamer Avenue at South Maryland Avenue. The Harley-Davidson was traveling westbound on South Maryland Avenue, approaching Reamer Avenue, at what authorities described as a high rate of speed.
As the Toyota Tacoma initiated its left turn, the motorcycle impacted the passenger side of the truck. The force of the collision caused the Toyota to spin, subsequently striking the front of the Dodge Ram.
The operator of the Harley-Davidson was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding the victim’s name pending notification of his family.
The drivers of the Toyota, a 32-year-old man from Wilmington and the Dodge Ram, a 66-year-old man from Newark, reported no injuries.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The roadway was closed for approximately one and a half hours while investigators processed the scene.
