Robyn Announces ‘Sexistential’ Tour, First Album in Eight Years
Robyn is set to embark on a comprehensive arena tour in support of her forthcoming album, Sexistential, which is slated for release on March 27. The “Sexistential Tour” will span North America, Europe, and Australia, beginning in June and concluding in November.
The tour includes three homecoming shows at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena on July 16, 17, and 18. A diverse lineup of supporting artists will join Robyn at various dates, including Erika de Casier, Smerz, 808 State, Saya Gray, Romy, Nourished by Time, Peaches, Grace Ives, and Lykke Li, among others.
Robyn has already released three singles from Sexistential: “Dopamine,” which also received a remix by Jamie xx, “Talk to Me,” and the album’s title track, “Sexistential.”
The North American leg of the tour kicks off September 8 in Washington, D.C. At The Anthem, followed by a performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on September 10. She will then head to Chicago’s United Center on September 12, and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on September 15. A Mexico City date is scheduled for September 19 at Palacio de los Deportes, before concluding the North American portion of the tour in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum on September 23.
The European dates begin June 24 in Dublin, Ireland at 3Arena. Further European stops include Glasgow, Scotland (June 26). Manchester, England (June 27); Brussels, Belgium (June 30); Paris, France (July 1); London, England (July 3); and Berlin, Germany (July 8). Additional shows are planned for Oslo, Norway (July 11) and Copenhagen, Denmark (July 14).
Following the European and North American legs, Robyn will travel to Australia for performances in Sydney on November 21 at Qudos Bank Arena and Melbourne on November 24 at Rod Laver Arena.
Specific support acts vary by location. For example, Erika de Casier will open for Robyn in Dublin, while Smerz is slated to support the show in Glasgow. 808 State will join Robyn in Manchester, and Saya Gray will perform with her in London. Mechatok is scheduled to open in Berlin, Romy in Oslo and Copenhagen, Zhala in Stockholm, Becky and the Birds in Stockholm, Nourished by Time in Washington, D.C., Peaches in Chicago, Grace Ives in Toronto, Lykke Li in Mexico City, and Horsegiirl in Los Angeles.
