5-Year-Old Son Dies After Mother’s Mysterious Death | Heute.at

A Community Mourns the Loss of Five-Year-Old Micah Kim

The five-year-old son of Catholic speaker and comedian Paul Kim has died after more than a week on life support, following a rare medical emergency stemming from a severe case of the flu. Micah Kim passed away on , his father announced in a tearful social media post on Thursday.

“Micah Joseph is beginning the new year basking in the never-ending glory, love, and peace of God,” Paul Kim wrote in the post, which included a two-part video. He continued, expressing his belief that “Micah has been very busy already, as I see the Lord using him and sending him on missions to bring millions of people closer to God.”

Kim asked for privacy for his family during their time of grief, but felt compelled to share an update with the millions who had been praying for Micah. He revealed that his social media account had received over 50 million views in the week and a half since he first alerted followers to his son’s medical emergency on .

Micah was initially rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe internal bleeding and other complications. He underwent emergency chest surgery on to address the bleeding, which successfully stabilized his heart function. Following the surgery, Micah’s heart began beating independently, and his vital signs remained steady, according to reports from his father.

Doctors gradually reduced life support as Micah’s lungs showed slow improvement on a ventilator. However, a subsequent MRI revealed severe brain damage, leading physicians to conclude there was “no medical possibility” of recovery.
